Forecasting at the IMF

This report by the IMF’s Independent Evaluation Office focuses on the processes used by IMF staff to generate short- and medium-term forecasts, and assesses their overall quality and usefulness. The final chapter presents the results of a survey of both users and producers of IMF forecasts regarding the quality and usefulness of these forecasts.
